Earth is land

Our planet, the only place we and our children will ever live, is being severely damaged.

As a Sustainable Land Management Champion invited by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), I am convinced that “Earth’s land is no longer sustainable.” Because I and my generation in the 20th century mismanaged it with excessive competition and greed to live better, and we have incurred big debt and sin on our children. That greed has resulted in 34% of the planet’s land becoming desert, and it is deteriorating faster every year. It’s time to restore Earth, the land all we live on.

Futre Forest dreams of a time when the desert will become a forest full of green trees, rivers flow, and clear skies replace yellow sand, bringing nature and humans are together. For this dream, Futre Forest has been traveling to the Chinese desert for the past decade to plant trees and cultivate people. Together with the All-China Youth Federation, we built an 18-kilometer The Green Wall to prevent from migration of the desert in advance any further. Now we dream of turning the desert into a green ecological village and spreading the Earth Saving project around the world. I believe this is the way we apologize to future generations, and must act now. Planting trees in the desert and saving the earth is the only way to transcend borders and generations, to tell our children that there are going to be land for them to live on, and the only way for humans and Earth to live together. If the 20th century is the history of our failure to sustainably manage our planet, then the next 100 years are the beginning of a beautiful green history that is going to be with you.
