The Earth, the only habitat for human life, has lost its sustainability due to our improper actions, rapidly desertifying and becoming barren. The aspirations of the people gathered to revive this unsustainable Earth was the starting point for Future Forest. Future Forest is at the forefront of ‘Saving the Earth’ in various forms by widely publicizing serious global disasters and practicing sustainable land management initiatives and new ways of life needed to save the Earth. Additionally, with the hope that more people can join in ‘Saving the Earth’, it aims to nurture talents for a better future and is committed to ‘Saving the Earth’.
Earth, the only place of human life, is rapidly becoming deserted and devastated due to our wrongful actions, and has lost its sustainability. The desire of people who gathered to save the earth was the starting point of the Future Forest. Future Forest is leading many different forms of ‘saving Earth’ by publicizing serious global catastrophes and practicing sustainable land management pilot projects and new lives necessary to save Earth. We also aim to ‘saving Earth’ with the hope that more people can join us in saving Earth by fostering human resources for a better future.
We are engaged in a movement to save Earth that people of all ages and walks of life can participate in.
Programs aimed at elementary school students, such as the ‘Green Camp for Gifted Children’, ‘Save the Earth Drawing Contest’, and ‘Studying Earth’, and the G20 Seoul Summit Preparatory Committee,
and the UNCCD, we are contributing to the expansion of global awareness through the ‘G20 SEOUL SUMMIT Earth Saving Cartoon Exhibition’, the ‘2011 Daegu World Athletics Championships Earth Saving Cartoon Exhibition’, and the ‘Earth Saving New Year’s Concert’ with an orchestra. Through the ‘utilization of reclaimed land’, the ‘vegetarian movement’, and the ‘separate collection’, we are making it possible for ordinary citizens to participate in that any citizen can participate in.
In addition, former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, singer Rain, and Jang Woo-hyuk,
mountaineer Oh Eun-sun, and other celebrities representing Korea.
Recognizing the potential of the Future Forest’s decade-long anti-desertification campaign and human resource development, the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), together with us and the All-China Youth Federation, launched the “Billion Trees in Desert” campaign on May 15, 2009, in the Kubuchi Desert of Inner Mongolia, China. A tree donated by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was planted as the first tree in the campaign, which is open to all citizens of the world who want to plant trees and transform desolate deserts into spaces of reinvention and life.
